Iconic corona bucket made from beach plastic

This iconic Corona Bucket is made from recycled ocean plastic. Made from bottle caps and bottles from the beach. The Logo is made with 3d printing techniques that used old bottles as their main material. The Recycled Bucket was  part of the larger creative collaboration between the Parley AIR Strategy, Wink and Better Future Factory

DESIGN PROCESS

Prototyping

How do you make a first product without investing in expensive moulds? In the workshop of Better Future Factory we use different rapid prototyping techniques for this. In this case we first pressed sheet material which was then laser cut in the right shape. By bending and thermo welding we could create the bucket shape.

Ocean plastics

Working with ocean plastic is challenging, you don’t know exactly what kind of plastic it is or how the quality is. If plastic has been exposed extensively to the sun and salt water it will deteriorate the quality of it. We’ve developed a method for tracking the kind of plastic and quality.
