Trophies are a great storytelling tool for the actual achievement but also for advocating sustainability. By making these trophies from sustainable plastics we add an extra dimension to them. They are often placed in notable places and people are proud to show them. We design and produce custom made trophies made from various recycled plastics which amplify the story of the award.
In 2015 KLM, Royal Dutch Airlines, celebrated the Innovation Awards. A reward for the best innovations made by employees or teams of KLM. To match the spirit of the awards we proposed to do something innovative as well and took the challenge to design and build 20 awards made only from waste plastic found on their planes. The only request from the client was that the awards should express innovation, freedom, exploration. The top of the award was 3D-printed from bottles finished with rubber straps, the base made from compressed shopping bags and blanket wraps.
The design of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe awards is made from fully recycled plastics. The client had a clear idea about the design of the circle on top with the arrows. We worked on the materialisation and the production technique to get the right finish, durability and quality. On the bottom of every award you will find our ‘Made of’ label, an ingredients list, showing the materials the award is made of.
We believe that it makes a lot of sense to create the sustainability award with a renewable materials! We had the pleasure to design and produce sustainable SPAR awards. They are made with our recycled filament Refil which is made from recycled PET bottles. We’ve used 6 green bottles, 5 transparent bottles and an old oak wood – all per award! In recent months, all national SPAR stores have competed during the SPAR games for the ultimate prize; “Who will be named the best SPAR 2019 in the region”. Congratulations to the winners!
For Project Everyone, a non-profit organisation with the mission to ensure that everyone on the planet knows what the Global Sustainable Development Goals are, we 3D-printed two awards. The design was a collaborative effort with an external designer and the Project Everyone team. The award was handed out on the bottom of the Ocean to make a statement. We love to work with companies and organisations that share our mission.
